BIG GOVERNMENT has always been the nemesis of freedom, going back even before the birth of our great nation.
Thomas Jefferson is quoted:"The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."

Thomas Jefferson was a very thoughtful person when it came to Christian beliefs in regards to our form of government.  He states:

“God who gave us life gave us liberty.  And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever.”
--(Excerpts are inscribed on the walls of the Jefferson Memorial in the nations capital)

Early American colonial men who were trying to run their businesses and farms were constantly being harrassed by the British Parliament, either by overtaxation, confiscation of goods and properties, and an unfair legal system where the colonists' individual and corporate rights were never given proper concern.

John Adams Quote:

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Our Founding Fathers knew that a man's life and destiny was never meant ~ or should be ~ in the control of a distant powerful group of men.  They believed that each man was given their inalienable rights from a Higher Authority, our Creator.  And every human being, a creation made by their Creator, should ultimately be answerable to the Highest Law over that of Man's.  They believed that when Man's laws sidestep those given by our Creator, each person had a duty and obligation to follow the laws and standards set by the Higher Authority.

Benjamin Franklin Quote:

“In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered… do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?”

Alexander Hamilton Quote:

"For my own part, I sincerely esteem it [the Constitution] a system which, without the finger of God, never could have been suggested and agreed upon by such a diversity of interests."

To step away from Man's laws, our Founding Fathers put their lives on the line by reinstating our Creator's laws, i.e., the Ten Commandments, into a new form of government.  Freedom began as an ideal whereby each man would no longer be ruled by Man's judgment but by God's judgment.

Patrick Henry Quote:

“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

James Madison Quote:

“We’ve staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity…to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”
Benjamin Rush Quote:

“I lament that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes and take so little pains to prevent them…we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government; that is, the universal education of our youth in the principles of Christianity by means of the Bible; for this Divine Book, above all others, constitutes the soul of republicanism.  By withholding the knowledge of [the Scriptures] from children, we deprive ourselves of the best means of awakening moral sensibility in their minds.”
--Letter written (1790’s) in Defense of the Bible in all schools in America.

God gave man Free Will to do with his life what he chose to do, but when one of His laws or commandments were broken, there would always be a penalty.  This was the pattern which our Founding Fathers used to develop a free society, with checks and balances to thwart those who would undoubtedly abuse their God-given freedoms.

John Quincy Adams Quote:

“The Law given from Sinai [The Ten Commandments] was a civil and municipal as well as a moral and religious code.”

Can our Constitution be sustained and upheld based solely upon itself without the foundation upon which it was written, the Ten Commandments?  I think our Founding Fathers would collectively disagree.

Those who are elected into government office who do not hold these same Judeo-Christian values upon which the Constitution was written, cannot be expected to come to terms with or understand the foundational principles on which it was written.  This duplicity creates a house divided against itself, which will eventually fail.  Our Founding Fathers created our Constitution to be understood as a basis for all members of society to live according to its Judeo-Christian foundation, as they had all stated and were quoted plainly above.

For those who do not share these same values, there will always be formed a legal battle between those who cherish the principled foundation of our Constitution and those who wish to subjugate it to their beliefs.
